To help kick off the brand new season of RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars, the cast of queens strutted from the runway, straight to the nation’s capital. The stars of All Stars season 9, came to Washington D.C. decked out in red, white, and blue, to remind our nation’s leaders that queer people are here to stay!

The queens took to some of the nation’s most iconic landmarks including the Washington Monument, the Capitol, and the White House while paying homage to RuPaul’s equally iconic look from the 1993 Gay Rights March. The queens spoke with GLAAD about the version of America they want to live in.

Season 5 royalty Roxxxy Andrews shares that, “I want to live in an America that is just an America that doesn’t judge, you know. It doesn’t matter who you sleep with. It doesn’t matter what you were born. As long as you’re a good person, that’s all that really matters.”

Season 13’s Gottmik says that this is America! “I am a trans man in front of the Capitol, in full femme-ass drag. That’s what America is all about. Being who you are.”

Nina West wants to live in an America that allows “drag queens to celebrate freely and celebrate our LGBTQIA+ community and give us all equal access and rights under the law.”

After this shoot, the queens had the honor of meeting with Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, the first openly LGBTQ person to serve in this position, at Little Gay Pub in D.C.. They had the opportunity to discuss issues surrounding their community and what people can do to help.
