It Could Get Ugly! Blue Bloods’ New Character Poses A *Serious* Threat To Erin In The Final Season

Blue Bloods is wrapping up its final season and there are a couple of new faces joining the show. Mira Sorvino and Debi Mazar are set to guest star on Blue Bloods Season 14 — find out who they’ll be playing.

Who Are the Blue Bloods Season 14 New Cast Members?

Blue Bloods fans are eagerly anticipating the upcoming second half of Season 14. Mazar and Sorvino are bringing new characters (and no doubt drama!) to the final season.

Mazar plays DA Evaline Romano. According to a report from TV Insider, she’s “a no-nonsense prosecutor who’s investigating ADA Erin Reagan (Bridget Moynahan) for alleged misconduct concerning a jury member in an important gang trial.” Romano will reportedly clash with Erin, “refusing to show deference to the Reagan family and unaffected by their influence over NYC law enforcement,” TV Insider reports.

Look for Mazar on the October 18 episode.

According to TV Insider, Sorvino will guest star in the Blue Bloods November 1 episode as Fire Commissioner Veronica Radley. She’s “the type of person who won’t take guff from anyone — nor is she afraid to ruffle feathers when she’s convinced that she’s made the best decision,” the site notes.

Blue Bloods showrunner Kevin Wade dished on what fans can expect in the final 8 episodes of the series. Wade told TVLine that he looked to some classic shows for series finale inspiration so he could nail it perfectly.

“I mean, if you’re on for 14 years, in at least four or five of those years you started out a season going, ‘This could be the last one,’ just as a numbers game,” Wade told TVLine. “So, I’ve thought about it a lot, along with my colleagues. [Longtime executive producer] Siobhan Byrne O’Connor and I would talk about it a lot over the seasons.”

Wade had a lot of great shows to study. “I rewatched the series finales of great shows, going back to M*A*S*H and Cheers and Mary Tyler Moore, and certainly The Sopranos..,” he said. “I watched a lot of them for what they might have in common, and what they basically had in common, if I boiled it down, is they did a great show, and then in the last few minutes they did a little pivot towards, ‘This is also the last show.’”

Doing his homework in this way, he said, “avoided the ‘We are now going to do a retrospective of how great we’ve been,’ because I think people tune in just to see a really good episode of the show that they loved.”

The Blue Bloods ending should be satisfying to fans and wrap up the series perfectly. “To me, the Blue Bloods season finales that worked best were where we found a crime or criminals or a situation for all the Reagans to work together on — separately but together,” Wade said. “And we did that. We have four different stories but all are aimed at solving or preventing the same crimes.”

Blue Bloods is available to stream on Paramount+.
